How to configure it from the dashboard

Role panels are managed entirely from the dashboard — no commands needed. Free tier allows up to 3 panels, and PRO removes the limit.

Create a panel

Dashboard → Reaction roles → New panel

The page has three tabs: Panels (your list), Roles (in the panel), and Member selections (who picked what).

Choose a display style

New panel → Style

Four styles:

Buttons — Cleanest and highest engagement. Best for up to 8 roles.
Select menu — Dropdown, best for larger role lists.
Reactions — The classic emoji method.
Container — Components V2, richer layout.

Publish and manage

Reaction roles ← Panels

After publishing, you can edit, clone the panel to another server, or delete it.

And Sync counters updates the numbers of who claimed each role — use it if the counts appear inaccurate.

⚠️ Lona's role must be above all panel roles, otherwise the buttons will fail silently

How the system works

Reaction roles let members choose their own roles — zero effort for you after setup.

Three display modes:
Buttons — Colored buttons below the message, the clearest and easiest
Reaction — Members react with an emoji on the message
Dropdown — Ideal when having many roles without cluttering the message

Three behavior modes:
Normal — Claim any number of roles from the panel
Unique — Only one role from the panel; selecting a new one replaces the old one (ideal for country, gender, or team)
Reversible — Freely toggle roles on and off

Additional features: Temporary roles removed after a duration, role requirement (must have a specific role to access the panel), role claim limit, panel scheduling, and a custom DM sent upon selection.

All managed from the dashboard — no commands needed.

Practical recipes

Interest selection panel

The most popular and useful setup:
1Dashboard ← Reaction roles ← New panel
2Mode: Buttons · Behavior: Normal
3Add interest roles (Gaming, Anime, Coding…)
4Publish it in the welcome channel

Unique panel for country or team

When you want only one selection:
1Mode: Dropdown menu (cleaner for many options)
2Behavior: Unique — selecting a new role removes the old one
3Enable confirmation DM so they know their choice was saved
Tips and warnings
Buttons yield the highest engagement, and dropdown menus are best for more than 8 roles.
Role requirements let you create tiered panels — advanced roles only appear for members who reached a certain milestone.
Monitor live stats — they reveal unclaimed roles so you can remove them.
Lona's role must be above all roles in the panel, otherwise buttons will fail silently without a clear error message.
If you delete a role from the server while it is in a panel, the panel will throw an error when clicked. Update the panel after deleting any role.
